IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE SAVIOR: TRUE FOLLOWER OF CHRIST
Luke 9:23-26
We conclude our series IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE SAVIOR as we study what Jesus said one must do to be a TRUE FOLLOWER OF CHRIST.
Jesus holds back no punches as He tells those who are crowding around Him what is truly means to be one of His followers. A true follower of Christ is not a fair-weather Christian who has a casual relationship with Jesus as long as it’s not inconvenient. Being a true follower of Christ means getting self out of the way, to be willing to remove anything or anyone that tries to take the place of Christ. Jesus wants and deserves more than mere numbers of people crowding around Him, He wants commitment from His followers.
Come join us Sunday as we learn what Jesus said it takes to be a TRUE FOLLOWER.
LUKE 9:23-26
Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. 25 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self? 26 Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.
