JOURNEY TO THE CROSS: THE SHAME OF THE CROSS
Hebrews 12:2 (selected passages in Matthew)
On Jesus’ JOURNEY TO THE CROSS, He now comes to His final hours with His disciples as he dreadfully faces and endures THE SHAME OF THE CROSS.
For three-years Jesus had been preparing His disciples for the time when He will be handed over to the Jewish leaders to be tortured and killed. The last few hours of His life were the most excruciating as He awaits the torture, humiliation and shame that He must endure to accomplish the mission that His Father sent Him on.
Come join us Sunday as we follow the Lord Jesus as He agonizes in prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane to His cruel and shameful death on the cross at Golgotha.
HEBREWS 12:2
fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
