SUNDAY LESSON, 12/18/22
THE HEART OF CHRISTMAS: LOVE
John 3:16 and 1 John 4:7-10
Sunday we will continue the Christmas sermon series: “THE HEART OF CHRISTMAS”. The heart of Christmas is not the decorations and parties and gifts, but something much more substantive and enduring. It is what the coming of the Christ child has brought into our existence that can never fade by time or circumstance. It is the HOPE, PEACE, JOY, and LOVE that are found only in Jesus.
This coming Sunday we will focus on the LOVE that God has had for us (human-beings) from the beginning of time, but was fully realized through the birth, life, death, and resurrection of His One and Only Son. God gave up His Son for us! There is no greater love than that.
Come join us this Sunday as we are reminded of the abundant love that God has for us. And come back on Christmas Eve at 6:00 as we listen again to the story of and celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
JOHN 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
1 JOHN 4:7-10
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
