SUNDAY LESSON, 3/7/21
THE CROSS: MOST IMPORTANT
1 Corinthians 15:1-5
Starting this Sunday, I am preaching a 5-week sermon series simply entitled:
“THE CROSS”.
For the next four weeks we will be looking at how the cross impacts us personally and our response to it; how Satan used the cross to spew out unimaginable cruelty against Jesus, and how Jesus used the cross to ultimately defeat Satan. On Easter Sunday we will conclude the series as we celebrate the resurrection power of Jesus Christ as its availability to those of us whom have given our lives to Jesus as our Lord and Savior.
This Sunday’s emphasis is on the cross as being of “MOST IMPORTANT” for not only us as Christians, but for all mankind. Everything centers around the cross of Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:1-5
Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve.
