REVIVAL: IT STARTS WITH ME
Philippians 3:7-14, Revelation 2:2-5 and passages in Acts
“We need revival!”
I have heard and read that statement several times this year as we have gone through a global pandemic and now dealing with racial tensions and civil unrest in our country and around the world.
I agree wholeheartedly that we need revival. The world needs revival! Our nation needs revival! Our city needs revival! Our churches need revival! However, revival cannot happen until we understand that true spiritual revival begins with the ones who sit in the church pew–YOU and ME.
Jesus told the Christians at Ephesus, “…I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love” (Revelation 2:4). The church at Ephesus was once a vibrant and growing church, but something happened along the way–their love for Christ had grown dim.
If we were honest, I believe that many Christians could say that their zeal and enthusiasm and love for Christ is not what it used to be.
Come join us Sunday as we look at the symptoms of a people whose love for Christ has grown cold and see what we can do individually and as a church to bring about revival.
