CHRIST’S CHOSEN: JAMES THE YOUNGER & JUDAS SON OF JAMES
Selected passages from the gospels and Acts

Continuing the summer sermon series, CHRIST’S CHOSEN, we will be studying two more apostles that are rather obscure in Scripture: JAMES THE YOUNGER and JUDAS SON OF JAMES.

I have been a preacher for over four decades, but only a few of those that I had the privilege of ministering to in the various churches where I have served over the years will possibly remember my name.  My name may appear among other preachers who served in those churches in the records of their congregational history, but for most reading those records it will be a name that has been long forgotten.
Now, there are preachers that many of us can name who have made great impact on society: Billy Graham, Phil Dobson, Max Lucado, Charles Swindoll, Tony Campolo, etc..  My name as well as most preachers of the gospel will never be mentioned among theirs.

James the younger and Judas (Thaddaeus) will seldom be mentioned when someone is asked to name the apostles of Christ from memory without looking at the list.   They are only mentioned in Scripture a few times, but what we do know about them is that Jesus chose them personally among the others apostles to help carry on His ministry after His mission on earth was finished.   They may not have a been a “Simon Peter”, but the mark they left in the world for Christ is just as important—even as the mark that you and I will leave as faithful servants of Jesus Christ.
Come join us Sunday as we study about these two apostles and the mark every Christian will leave simply be being a servant of Jesus.
