EASTER SERMON SERIES, 4/12/26
JOURNEY TO THE CROSS: GREAT COMMISSION AND ASCENSION
Matthew 28:16-20; Mark 16:15-16; Acts 1:1-10
This Sunday I will be concluding the Easter sermon series: JOURNEY TO THE CROSS.
I thought it was only appropriate to follow Jesus to His very last days on earth as He gives His disciples the GREAT COMMISSION and as they witness the ASCENSION of their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ returning to His heavenly home.
Jesus’ return to heaven was not the end of His mission. Christ left His disciples on earth to establish His church to carry on what He started—spreading the good news of His death, burial and resurrection throughout the world to save mankind. The apostles realized that the church is the “body of Christ” (Ephesians 1:22-23)—the extension of the Lord Jesus on earth.
Come join us Sunday as we study the Great Commission that Jesus gave to not only His apostles but to us, and watch as He ascends to the Father.
