SUNDAY LESSON, 8/28/22
GOD’S AMAZING GRACE: WHAT IT IS NOT
Romans 6:14
We are starting a new sermon series this Sunday titled: “GOD’S AMAZING GRACE”. Although I have preached on God’s grace multiple times over the years, it is good to be reminded that God doesn’t give up on us when we mess up. On the contrary, He extends His grace (unmerited favor) on us through His Son Jesus covering our sins.
To help us understand more about God’s Amazing Grace, I want us to begin this Sunday by studying from the book of Romans “WHAT GRACE IS NOT”, followed-up on September 4th as to what Paul says “GRACE IS”. Then for the remaining weeks of this study, we will move into the gospels to learn what Jesus teaches about God’s grace without ever even using the word “grace”.
If you are a struggling Christian who has ever doubted God’s forgiveness, this series of lessons is for you.
ROMANS 6:14
14 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.
JUDE 3-4
3 Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people. 4 For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about[a] long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.
TITUS 2:11-12
11 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,
