"FORGIVE AND FORGET"

Speaker: Fred Sigle

SUNDAY LESSON, 9/27/20

THE BIBLE DOESN’T SAY THAT:
“FORGIVE AND FORGET”
Ephesians 4:32; Hebrews 8:12
No, the Bible does not say “Forgive and forget”.  Yes, we are to forgive as God has forgiven us, but does God actually forget our sins?   Can we really forget the hurt caused by another who sins against us?   This concept of forgiving and forgetting has produced a lot of guilt in some who have finally been able to forgive the sins committed against them by another, but cannot forget the hurt no matter how hard they try.
Ephesians 4:32
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Hebrews 8:12
For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more.
