SUNDAY LESSON, 11/16/25
CHRISTIAN JOY
Selected passages from both the Old and New Testaments
This Sunday I am presenting a simple message about CHRISTIAN JOY. To some people the term “Chrisitan joy” is an oxymoron. To them, they associate Christianity to misery, not joy. They think in terms of all the “fun stuff” that Christians can’t do. They view God merely as a kill-joy, not the source of joy.
But as we will learn on Sunday from both the Old and New Testaments, God has always wanted His children to enjoy their relationship with Him, not endure it. Yes, there are certain things that we are to avoid, but only the things that God knows will produce misery not joy. Jesus reminds us that “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10). Fullness of life doesn’t come through the things that Satan and the world provide—only heartache. Only through Christ can we find true joy.
Come join us Sunday as we study from where our joy comes and what our joy does.
