MOTHER’S DAY LESSON, 5/10/26
MOTHER OF GOD
Selected passages from Luke
Can you imagine being the mother of God’s one and only Son—the Lord and Savior of the world? Among all the young women that God could choose to give birth to His Son, He chose a poor teenage girl from Nazareth that no one ever heard of to not only give birth to the Son of God but to raise Him from infancy to adulthood. Yet, when the angel Gabriel told Mary that she was chosen by God to give birth to His Son, she obediently said, “I am the Lord’s servant. …May it be to me as you said” (Luke 1:38).
This Sunday for Mother’s Day, we will be following Mary the MOTHER OF GOD from the day Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit (Luke 1) to the upper room gathered with 120 of Jesus closest disciples after witnessing her and God’s Son ascend into heaven (Acts 1).
Come join us Sunday as we recognize and honor the mothers of our congregation for the loving sacrifices they have made to ensure that their children will one day enter their heavenly home that Jesus has gone to prepare for them.
