THE SECRET OF THANKSGIVING
Philippians 4:10-13
 
Last Sunday we talked about how Paul was able to “rejoice always” (Philippians 4:4) despite the difficulties with which he was confronted. This Sunday we will be studying about what the apostle Paul had to say about learning THE SECRET OF THANKSGIVING even during times of difficulty.
As Paul writes these words, he is imprisoned in Rome waiting for orders from Nero, the emperor of Rome, to either release him or execute him.  Even so, Paul wants the Philippian church to understand that regardless of the difficult circumstances that he or they face in life that the gratitude we have for God, along with our joy, cannot be diminished, but actually strengthened through our total dependence on Jesus Christ.
Come join us Sunday as we learn Paul’s secret to being “thankful to God in all circumstances”  (1 Thessalonians 5:16).
PHILIPPIANS 4:10-13
I rejoiced greatly in the Lord that at last you renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you were concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. 11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
