GOD’S SOLUTIONS TO LIFE’S STRUGGLES: STRESS
Philippians 4:4-8
 
Starting on Sunday I will be presenting a practical and timely four-week sermon series titled: GOD’S SOLUTIONS TO LIFE’S STRUGGLES.  We will be studying four common struggles that most, if not all, Christians deal with from time-to-time.  We will begin with a study on STRESS.
Stress is a common and unavoidable part of life.  While it can be beneficial in small doses, chronic stress can have negative impacts on physical, mental and spiritual health.  Stress out of control becomes DISTRESS, and that is what we are to avoid.
From a spiritual standpoint, stress takes our eyes off God.  When we are stressed, it is usually because we feel we have to do everything on our own. When we try to take control of our lives, we fall apart. We are not capable of running our lives well devoid of God; rather, we need His power, His love, and His will in order to live peacefully.  However, God has a solution to the stress that often gets out of control in our lives.
Come join us Sunday as we study the words of the apostle Paul, who was certainly no stranger to stressful situations.  Come learn what God revealed through his writings to the Philippian church to help you and me to cope with and utilize the stress that we face almost daily.
PHILIPPIANS 4:4-8

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
