CONVERSIONS IN ACTS
Study from the Book of Acts
A few days after receiving The Great Commission from Jesus Christ to go into all the world preaching the gospel (Matthew 28:19-20 and Mark 16:15-16), the apostles did just that starting in Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2), fifty days after the Passover and the resurrection of Jesus.   On that day 3,000 plus people accepted the gospel message and were baptized into Christ, giving birth to the church of Jesus Christ.
Luke, a physician, recorded how the apostles and other disciples carried out The Great Commission of Christ in his history book known as The Acts of the Apostles.  In the Book of Acts, we see how the church started in Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost with 3,000 plus conversions, and continued to spread throughout Judea and the known world multiplying exponentially with more and more people submitting their lives to Christ in baptism being “added to their number [the church] daily those who were being saved” (Acts 2:47).
This summer we will be studying from the Book of Acts the CONVERSIONS of those who heard and accepted the gospel of Christ as proclaimed by the apostles of Jesus and were baptized into Him.  Luke records how the apostles carried out The Great Commission of their Lord despite strong opposition from both the Jewish religious leaders and the governments of Israel and Rome.  In this study we will see how every conversion recorded in Luke’s history book ended with the essentiality of water baptism having their sins washed away by the blood of Christ.
Come join us as we study The Great Commission in action as we follow the apostles in Jerusalem and beyond sharing the good news of Jesus Christ to anyone who would listen.
