DON’T GIVE UP: RUN WITH YOUR EYES ON JESUS
Hebrews 12:1-3 and John 16:33.
This Sunday we will conclude the series “DON’T GIVE UP”. Our focus this Sunday will be on simply RUN WITH YOUR EYES ON JESUS.
If our eyes are on anything else but Jesus, we will make it to the finish line. Jesus warned His disciples just hours before dying on the cross that “in this world you will have trouble” (John 16:33).
We have already had our share of troubles in this race we are in, but there will be more to come until we finally reach the finish line.
Jesus then went to say to His disciples at the close of that verse, “But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Jesus has already prepared way for our victory, but only if we keep our focus on Him. If our eyes are on anyone or anything but Him, there is no other way that we will survive this world.
HEBREWS 12:1-3
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
