100 YEARS OLD: WHY ARE WE STILL HERE?

Speaker: Fred Sigle

SUNDAY LESSON, 6/26/22
100th Anniversary of Garfield Christian Church
100 YEARS OLD: WHY ARE WE STILL HERE?
Matthew 9:35-38

Sunday is Garfield Christian Church’s 100th Year Celebration.  A lot of changes have occurred in 100 years.  Churches have come and gone, but GCC is still here–a different location but still in the neighborhood.
This begs the question: “WHY ARE WE STILL HERE?”  That is what I will attempt to answer in my sermon Sunday morning as we study the passage in Matthew about Jesus being “the Lord of the harvest”.
MATTHEW 9:35-38
35 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
