I STILL BELIEVE YOU ARE GOOD
Romans 8:28-30
Jeremy Camp wrote his hit song, “I STILL BELIEVE”, after struggling with his faith when his wife Melissa died with cancer. He had difficult believing that a “good” God would take his wife of three months, a faithful follower of Christ, away from him. But Jeremy soon realized that the goodness of God is not based upon good things happening to us, but rather upon God’s promise that even during times of heartache He will not “leave us nor forsake us” (Hebrews 13:5).
The apostle Paul promises that even during the difficult times of our lives, “God works the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28). This passage has often produced a lot of misunderstanding and confusion as to what possible good is God doing with our troubles. All that we see is brokenness and heartache, not any good that God is doing.

Romans 8:28-30
28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
