SUNDAY LESSON, 10/31/21
I STILL BELIEVE YOU ARE HERE
Romans 8:15-17, 26-27
This is the third week into our series: “I STILL BELIEVE”. Throughout this series we are considering how difficult circumstances shape our view of God; either we trust Him or we don’t.
God does not leave us to face life’s difficulties alone. In fact, He has given us His Spirit to come live in us to comfort and strengthen us in our times of trouble and heartache. The Holy Spirit reminds us of who we are in this world–children of God who is lovingly cared for by Him and who has a home with Him when this life is done. The Holy Spirit helps us when we feel so helpless that we can’t even express our hurts to our Father in prayer, but the Holy Spirit takes our unspoken words from our broken hearts and presents them to God.
Come join us Sunday as we study how God’s Spirit comforts and strengthens us. Even when we feel all alone, God is there through His Spirit.
Romans 8:15-17, 26-27
15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.[a] And by him we cry, “Abba,[b] Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.
