WHAT IS GOD'S FAVORITE COLOR?

SUNDAY LESSON, 6/7/2020

“WHAT IS GOD’S FAVORITE COLOR?”

Since there is so much unrest across our nation over the murder of George Floyd by the Minneapolis police officer, I decided that I wanted to at least try to address the tension between “black and white” from a Biblical perspective. Although the New Testament does not address the color of one’s skin (by the way, that should tell us something), it does address and condemns bigotry, prejudice, and favoritism.

This lesson asks the question:  “What is God’s favorite color?” Currently America is divided over skin color. We have heard the argument on both sides of the isle over what life matters most. Sadly, Facebook debates get us nowhere, except create more and more division between us.

I am asking my brother Meddie Demmings to join me on Sunday as we both address this issue from God’s Word. Our nation needs healing, and it begins with God’s people.

John 3:16

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Romans 2:11

11 For God does not show favoritism.

James 2:8-9

If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,”[a] you are doing right. But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers.
